Kate trained at Aberystwyth University, where she studied acting & classical voice within her BA Degree (Joint hons. Drama & Art History). Actress and singer for over three decades, she has performed in many genres of theatre all over the UK: Shakespeare, Theatre-In-Education, pantomime, drama, musicals and she has also appeared in TV and film.
Most recently, Kate has been delving into audio drama, musical and soundscape composition for At Swefn’s Edge with her husband, Michael Parker.
Kate has performed in numerous theatre productions and audio works in and around Essex, notably for Packing Shed Theatre Co., Blown Fuse, Spinning Yarns, Castle Park Theatre, Blank Space and Collusion. She trained in puppetry at The Little Angel Theatre Co.
As well as a performer, Kate is a qualified primary school teacher (PGCE) and works regularly in the Essex area as a trained independent Celebrant (FOIC) for funeral and celebratory services.
Her love for playing gong and exploring the healing and spiritual possibilities of this incredible instrument began to develop in 2022, after working in sound and vocal improvisation within the work of At Swefn’s Edge.
Kate successfully completed the Gong Practitioner course at Reiki Space in 2022 (fully accredited by IPHM) and is a fully insured Gong Practitioner/Sound Healer through Holistic Insurance Services.
